We appreciate your interest in knowing more about the UT Arlington Career Center and in referring students and employers to us. We believe that faculty & staff are an important component to the effective delivery of our services. As a UT Arlington faculty or staff member, you play an integral role in influencing students’ decisions and experiences. Students may come to you first with questions about career choices, jobs & internships related to their major and how to locate resources on campus to help them. Our goal is to partner with you to assist our students (and alumni) in making informed career choices and finding success.
The Career Center works with students from freshman to graduate students. Our services are also available to all alumni throughout their careers. It is important for students to connect with our office early on in their UT Arlington experience to establish a relationship with a consultant, learn about our resources and develop a career action plan.

HOW WE HELP YOUR STUDENTS
Faculty members are the best referral source for our students to use The Career Center.
There are several ways you could assist our students:
- Refer undecided or wavering students to us for career assessment and testing.
- Encourage students needing an internship, full-time or part-time job to use Hireamaverick, our online career management and job posting system, for researching employers and available positions. Registering for Hireamaverick, also gives students/alumni the opportunity to participate in on-campus interviews when employers host these on our campus!
- Encourage students to participate in Resume Workshops, Mock Interviews and attend our Job Fairs and other networking events on campus.
- Invite us to give career-related presentations and workshops. We can customize any presentation to meet your class needs.

SERVING AS A REFERENCE
Faculty members play a direct role in the employment process of new graduates. Evaluations of an individual's performance, whether at work or in the classroom, are an integral part of the
worlds of work and education. Communication of this information is necessary and appropriate.

The Career Center hosts a variety of events on campus designed to connect students with the next steps in their career after graduation. Job Fairs and information sessions, workshops, networking events and graduate student education events are available throughout the fall and spring semesters. CONNECT WITH EMPLOYERS
We know employers who want to know you – At The Career Center, we work directly with employers, who often ask for the contact information of faculty members who could help them to target students in a particular major or discipline. Employers want to develop mutually beneficial relationships with faculty, and can provide many forms of support. We can facilitate that connection.
